Compassionate and Committed

Jessica J. Bell, Esq.

Owner and Attorney

Jessica concentrates her practice into Domestic Relations (Family Law), Estate Planning, Probate and Guardianship with a focus on adult guardianships with small estates. A life long Chicago Southside native, Jessica saw a need for legal help establishing paternity, child support, and visitation arrangements, obtaining legal guardianship for those taking care of elderly parents, disabled family members, and minor children, and families attempting to plan for and recover from a death. Appearing in Markham and Daley Center Courthouses, Jessica offers affordable legal services to Cook County residents whose income is to high to qualify for free legal services but also cannot afford traditionally priced private attorneys.

Prior to establishing Bell Advocate LLC, Jessica was a conflict analyst and attorney in the Chicago Offices of two law firms, where she assisted in making determinations of legal ethics. During law school, Jessica externed at the Alaska Office of Public Advocacy (OPA), where she completed legal research in preparation for the submission of memoranda in support of OPA sponsored bills before the Alaska Legislature in favor civil and criminal sanctions for elder financial abuse. Jessica also has had a long relationship with the Chicago Legal Clinic (CLC), first as an extern in 2009 and currently as a volunteer attorney in the CLC’s Southside Office.

Jessica has additional volunteer experience with the Center for Disability and Elder Law’s Help Desk at the Daley Center, Wills for Heroes, the Niles West Mock Trial Team, Beta Pi Sigma Sorority, Habitat for Humanity, and Kaboom.

In January 2017, Jessica established her own initiative, Project Bleeding Love. The project collects and distributes feminine hygiene supplies to homeless women, shelters and aid organizations on Valentine’s Day. The 2017 initiative raised approx. $1500 which supplied 46 individual women and an additional 3 service agencies with reusable bags filled with over 3 months worth of feminine hygiene supplies including boxes of chocolates.

When not pursuing legal endeavors or volunteering Jessica is a karaoke enthusiast with a focus on 90’s RnB and 80’s power ballads, a lover of international travel, food, and film, and an active member of Zion Faith Center Bible Church.
